BCA is a course especially designed for those who want to make their careers in IT industry. BCA stands for Bachelor in Computer Applications. This course makes the students updated with the latest technologies in computer related fields such as web design, web development etc. It is especially preferred to those students who opt for Mathematics or Computer Science or Informatics Practice during their 10+2. Because this course demands the students should be strong on logical basis. A criterion for this course is 10+2 passed in most of the institutes/colleges in India. But some institutes/colleges have their own criteria over there, some conduct entrance exams to select students for the BCA course while some of them demand a minimum certain percentage or some demand Mathematics or Computer Science or Informatics Practice opted by the student during his/her 10+2 studies as compulsory subjects.
In most of the institutes/colleges it is a 3-years undergraduate program. Some of them provide it as a 4-year undergraduate program. In case students do not clear all semesters with in estimated time period there is a flexibility to clear them within 6 years from the date of admission. Institutes have rights to change it. So, it is suggested to keep updated yourself by checking the related university website on the regular basis.
Before getting admission to the opted college/institution, students have to check some key things such as, is the institution/college is Govt./UGC/AICTE approved or not, the past results are good enough or not, the facilities & the faculties are good enough or not, status of the placement of previous year if provided, etc.

Private Sector- IT industry is one of the best options for doing the job in private sector. Young aspirants such as BCA pass outs can easily get good jobs with attractive salary packages in private sector.
Govt. Sector- Govt. Sector also has provided big opportunities to IT aspirants. So many jobs are there in govt. sector also, such as, in Technical & other related departments. Here also the candidates are getting very attractive salary.
Higher Education Options after completion of BCA- Some of the candidates opt for jobs while some are going to continue their studies in their respective streamlines. BCA pass outs can opt for various post graduate courses, such as, MBA & MCA. These two are highly recommended for BCA pass outs. MCA is equivalent to M.Tech in computer engineering. While in MBA they can opt for IT discipline.
