What is Civil Engineering?
Civil Engineering focuses on the infrastructural framework of entire nation which includes Water works, Dams, Power Plants, Irrigation Canals, River Navigation, Dams, Industrial Plant Buildings, Railroads, Highways, and Bridges etc. Civil Engineering also deals with the design, maintenance and construction of physically built environment. How to become a Civil Engineer?
If you are planning or you have decided to become a civil engineer then you have two options.
- Either you can complete a three year diploma course after class 10th or
- You can go for a four years degree course after class 12th. After completion of a degree course you can go for a master course in civil engineering.
If you are going to apply for a degree course, you have to qualify an entrance exam either on a national level or on the state level. However some institutes take admission directly. Your performance in 10+2 could also be considered.
