About Professional Degree Courses
Professional degree courses are those courses which are designed in such a manner so that the aspirants can get a job quickly in their respective disciplines after completion of their degree program. These courses are a blend of diploma courses and conventional degree courses. The conventional degree courses are designed to give in depth knowledge because they focus more on the theoretical knowledge while diploma courses focuses more on practical knowledge. MBA (Masters of Business Administration)
MBA is one of the most popular courses in India. Now most of the graduates from any stream opt for MBA, because this is all about business administration and management. Now a days aspirants with MBA degree gets job very quickly. In MBA they learn to promote the business like how to promote, where to promote, when to promote and why to promote? Even the engineers, doctors are also going for MBA programs because they also accept that after doing MBA they promote their own business in a right way. This a two year long course divided into four semesters of six months each. Minimum eligibility for admission to this course is to be a graduate from any stream and after that you have to crack the entrance exam. But some universities give direct admission to the graduates.
CA (Chartered Accountant)
CA is the dream course for the aspirants of commerce stream. Most of the students of commerce stream wants to be CA. CA gets better job opportunities after the completion of their course. Because there are too many companies in India with a big turnover according to Indian currency they always need a CA. CA keeps records of their accounts and audits. CA strategies in such a manner so that the net payable tax gets minimized. Normally this course takes four to five years to complete. The eligibility for this course is HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) exam passed from commerce stream with accountancy as a subject. Aspirants have to secure 45% marks in their HSC exams, thereafter they have to go through the CPT (Common Proficiency Test), after passing CPT the aspirant gets admission to CA.
MCA (Masters of Computer Applications)
MCA is also one of the hot courses available in the market. MCA is the course designed to produce computer professionals. This is the study of mainly programming, designing and development. There is a huge demand of MCA professionals in today’s era. The minimum eligibility to get admission in this course is you have to be a graduate from any discipline. This course is a three year long divided into six semesters of six months each. Many universities in India provides this professional degree course. Most of the universities give direct admission to this course while some of them gives admission on the basis of entrance test conducted by them independently.
M Tech (Masters of Technology)
M Tech is one of the best engineering course in our country. Actually it is not a pure engineering course but a technology course. In this course aspirants learn how to modify the current inventions by using new technology. For example a car engine can be modified by increasing its mileage by using a new technology. Suppose an engine with power of 1000 cc gives mileage of 10 km pl, then by making some modifications the engine started giving mileage of 12 km pl instead of 10 km pl. This is a course in which only B Tech passed or equivalent can get admissions on the basis of score in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). This is a two year long course divided into four semesters of six months each. After completion of this course students get very good job with very attractive salary packages.
ME (Masters of Engineering)
ME is the pure engineering course in India. This course is quite similar to M Tech but the key difference is that after doing ME one is able to invent or discover new things in the field of engineering while after completing M Tech they were modifying these inventions or discoveries. This course is for BE passed or equivalent. Again you have to clear GATE exam to get admission in this course, but some universities give direct admissions to this course also. Again the duration is two years as same as M Tech consists of six months long four semesters. They found most of the jobs in reputed and bigger companies.
There are many more professional degree courses available such as BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), B Tech (Bachelor of Technology), BE (Bachelor of Engineering), MBE (Masters of Business Economics), BBS (Bachelor of Business Studies), BFIA (Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis), BBE (Bachelor of Business Economics) and many more. In all these above mentioned courses MBE is of two years and eligibility is to be a graduate while BE and B Tech are four years long minimum requirement is +2 or equivalent with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Maths). While BBS, BFIA, BBE, BBA and BCA are three years long courses in which BBS, BFIA and BBE demands +2 or equivalent with English and Maths as compulsory subjects with a minimum percentage of marks in best of four subjects differ by categories.
