Electronic is a part of electrical engineering. Used interchangeably sometimes, people often get confused and take both of these same. In reality, both are different industries. Where electrical engineers are held responsible for the tasks of generation and transmission of electricity, electronics engineers concentrate on the application of electricity.
Electrical engineering involves the study of machines, power plants, transmission, generators and so on. On the other hand, electrical engineering includes the study of electronic circuit design, Microwave engineering, etc. Since the both involve the use of electricity, electronic and electrical engineering are included in same department of study. And, electronics is documented as a branch of electrical engineering, though there are key differences to be noted in both fields.
Electrical engineering generally encompasses the production and distribution of electricity at a large scale. Electronics engineering on the other hand includes the application and usage of electric circuitry in modern technologies such as computers, etc.
However, both branches of engineering involve working in the firms the activities like electric power generation, production and development. Electronic engineers are more likely to work in telecommunication companies. Electronic engineers are supposed to design and develop electronic devices like audio-visual equipment, satellites, communication systems, etc.
